The 495 Babe Ruth League is an inter-district league for regular season games between Marlboro Babe Ruth, Milford Babe Ruth, and Central MA Babe Ruth (consisting of Northboro and Hudson). The Prep Division is for 2008 league age 13 year olds. The Majors (also called Jr. Babe Ruth) is for 2008 league age 14 & 15 year olds.

495 League Umpires
Please download and read both the 495 Rules and How Does a Game End documents above. Here are a few common issues:
- There is no "mercy rule".
- 13 year olds cannot wear metal spikes in Prep or as a callup to Majors.
- There is no bat restriction rule (2+1/4", 2+5/8", and 2+3/4" metal or wood or any differential is OK)
- The MIAA (NCAA) slide rule does NOT apply. Slide or avoid, it's that simple. Please see the rules.
- No extra innings, games can end it a tie.
- No new inning starts after 2.5 hrs. If it's the last game on the field for the day, you have discretion to let them finish if they ask and if you agree without regard to the time limit. Umpire's decision.
- Please report all ejections to the league using the link at the top of this page.
- Please do your best to end games (due to conditions etc) between innings or at a point where the game does not have to be suspended. (see doc "How Does a Game End")
National Babe Ruth Coaching Certification Requirements (weblink)
2008 Season: Certification is not required for the regular season. Certification is required for sanctioned tournament play such as Districts, Regionals etc which occur after the regular season. All Managers and Coaches of these teams will be required to complete the course and pass the exam before they can participate.
2009 Season: Certification will be required for all Managers and Coaches for all Babe Ruth teams even during the regular season.
